Join us on Tuesday, Jan 28, 2025 at 7pm-8:30pm on the N8SL Repeater (147.040 + 110.9pl) to try SSTV!
Let’s take what we learned from Jerry (K8GNG) at January’s Club Meeting and get together to share some SSTV images! To cover a broader group of amateurs, we’ll be sharing our SSTV Transmissions over the N8SL repeater. Using the repeater should allow many to participate, whether you simply want to capture the transmissions, or you’re ready to send one of your own.
The SSTV Social will start with Check-Ins at 7pm. See the following below for the format of this exchange:
1) Simply indicate whether you’re just receiving, or you would like to send with your check in (callsign).
2) Once everyone is situated, we’ll call a checked-in member to Transmit, an SSTV Picture (using Scottie 2 as your mode, please, to prevent repeater time-out) and then we’ll have you share a quick description of your picture.
3) At the conclusion of your Picture Share, and your short informational description (voice) we’ll move to the next sender.
4) We’ll leave some time at the end to discuss photos that were shared.

Setup information:
Frequency: N8SL Repeater (147.040 +shift, 110.9 Tone)
SSTV Image Format: Scottie 2 (71seconds, 320×256 resolution)
Software Recommended: MMSSTV 1.13A or Yoniq 1.13. For phone/mobile device users, “Robot 36” app for Android, or “SSTV Slow Scan TV” app for Iphone/Ios devices.
Duration of the Event: 1hr 30min (or until we run out of submissions)
