Larry WB8R wanted our club to know about the following event, as mentioned in the June Michigan Section News
The 19th annual Michigan Section Family Outing will once again be held at the Woodlands Conference Center and Campground in the woods near Hale, Michigan. This facility has 420 acres of beautiful Northern Michigan woods and most likely we will have it all to ourselves. In addition to being a family friendly event (plenty of things for kids to do), this will be the location for the Michigan Section Statewide Emergency Coordinator’s annual meeting and training session. We have a large indoor facility that works very well for presentations and discussions.
John McDonough and his crew have assembled a great program that will begin on Friday afternoon and will run all day on Saturday. Lunch will be provided on Saturday, but you are free to bring your own. The entire outing is powered by donations.
See our website located at www.sectionouting.info for complete details.
There is plenty of room for campers in anything from a pup tent to a motorhome and a fifth wheel. Electrical hookup is available as well and permanent restrooms with showers are close by. Antennas are not a problem, so there are good opportunities to operate portable from there. Campers are welcome to come early and enjoy the peace and quiet.
This is a fun event coupled with a great place to network with others and share experiences. I guarantee that you will go home with more knowledge that you came with!
